We’re Tree M Coffee Company, a family-owned and operated coffee farm nestled in the foothills of Pahala, Hawaii.
My wife, Megan, and I decided to purchase our coffee farm after the construction industry took a hit during the economic crash of 2008. I was raised on my family’s subsistence farm in Alaska, and had always desired to live the farming lifestyle again. The Hawaiian sun also sounded nice, so we decided to take the leap of faith and move our four children to the Big Island.
We started out by planting 100 coffee trees, and we haven’t looked back since. Fast forward to today and we have 16,000 trees, and are one of the top 20 largest coffee producers on the Big Island. The rich, volcanic soil and unique microclimate in the region our farm is located in is what makes our Ka’u specialty coffee particularly smooth, bold and ridiculously delicious.
We’re proud to say that we’ve maintained our hands-on small batch care of every bag of coffee we produce, and our farm is still solely run by our family. We don’t use any machinery during our coffee harvest and handpick every bean ourselves. By incorporating sustainable farming practices and producing domestically-grown and roasted coffee in the U.S., we’re passionate about bringing the highest-end, specialty coffee straight from our farm to your cup.
Cheers to great coffee,
